Create a ‘Cute As Can Bee’ Fun Fold Card
Today I’m sharing a Cute As Can Bee (pun intended) fun fold card that we made in the May round of classes. It uses the Cute As Can Bee Designer Series Paper in a Double Z Fancy Fold layout.

This paper may have gone under your radar as it was originally released in a Scrapbooking Brochure a couple of months ago. It is a colour rework of a design we had in the January 2024 Mini Catalogue. I think this version is SO much nicer with the Bubble Bath, Petunia Pop, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pool Party colour combo. The image above really doesn’t do it justice, but hopefully you will get a better idea from the photos of my projects.

This is first version I made using the fun Petunia Pop plaid on the outside and you can see a hint of the cute bee design that is on the inside. This fun fold uses almost all of a 6″ x 12″ sheet of double-sided patterned paper, so it is a great layout if you are wanting to use up some of your paper stash. The only gotcha is if you use directional paper. When you reuse the triangles that are cut away from the top corners, it is flipped over to fit along the bottom edge on the opposite side. Therefore, any directional design will be upside down in those triangles. However, if you use the directional design on the inside of the card and all-over design on the outside, it will work just fine.

The card is held closed by the belly band embellishment. I chose Pool Party to complement the Petunia Pop flowers and Lost Lagoon foliage that I used on the centre circle. The greeting is from the Unbounded Love stamp set stamped in Petunia Pop ink. I finished the embellishment with Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels on the flowers and an Adhesive-Backed Heart Sequin under the greeting.

When the belly band is removed, the sides unfold to see the writing panel where the super cute busy bee is flying past with birthday greetings. The bee image is from the Meant to Bee stamp set and this is the smaller size. The birthday greeting is from the Round We Go stamp set, which has just gone into the Last Chance Products this week.

This photo shows the second version made by one of the classes with the Old Olive hive design on the front and the bees buzzing among the flowers on the inside.
