CASE-ing the Catty – Easter Joy Suite

Hi there,
Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week.
If you’ve come from visiting Rochelle, then welcome! If you’re visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.

This week we are taking our creative inspiration from the Easter Joy Suite in the 2026 January-April Mini Catalogue. There are lots of sweet projects on pages 34 – 37 to get your creative juices going for Easter. Of course, you could take a layout or colour combo or technique from the projects and create something for an entirely different occasion.

I had two bites of the cherry today, although I really shouldn’t have. I’m meant to be creating for an upcoming class, but I got carried away with the Easter Basket Bundle.

I created a 3D basket using the basket front from the Easter Basket Dies. Between the front and back is a box that is 2 1/8″ x 2 1/8″ x 1 1/4″ that mirrors the shape of the die. This means it is slightly narrower at the base. The basket has been made from the lighter side of Basic Beige Two-Tone card stock. Although this is slightly lighter weight than normal card stock, it works well as there are multiple layers, so the basket is very study.
I added the scallop trim in white and Bubble Bath to the top edges on all sides. I found that putting the trim on the sides first and then the front and back gives a neater finish. On the front I have added some cute embellishments with the sweet bunny coloured in Crumb Cake Blends. Next to the bunny is the cluster of flowers and then 2 stamped and coloured eggs nestled in the grass.
I finished with the bow in the Balmy Blue Gingham ribbon. The greeting from the (retired) Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set was stamped in Early Espresso ink and cropped with the smallest banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. The basket would be the perfect table favour for guests at Easter lunch or dinner.

While I was flicking through the Mini Catalogue I came upon the cute card in the photo above. So, I decided to make a coordinating card for my Easter basket.

I created a standard card, rather than a slim line, using the new Barely Blush, from the upcoming 2026-2028 In Colors. It is a very soft clear pink, but looks a little grey-ish in the photo, unfortunately. Bubble Bath is the next layer that was dry embossed with the All in a Row Embossing Folder. I distressed it slightly with a fine sanding block so that a little white shows through. The white mat was added with a tiny border for a little pop. The basket was cropped from the lighter side of the Basic Beige Two-Tone card stock. The scallop trim is white with Balmy Blue peeking out.

The flowers (except for the blue cluster) were cropped with the Easter Basket Dies. The leaves are from Old Olive Two-Tone card stock and the flowers from Basic White. The flowers were coloured with Stampin’ Blends. The cute bunny is also from the Easter Basket stamp set, coloured in Crumb Cake blends. I wanted a smaller greeting, so I used the ‘Happy Easter’ from the retired Sweet Little Something stamp set and cropped it with another banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Such a sweet duo, but each are cute on their own, too.

Your card and basket are adorable! Was wondering how you actually created the little box between the 2 baskets. I see your dimensions but didn’t see any score lines. Kind of new to this and just wanted to ask! Thank you!
