CASE-ing the Catty – Delicate Pines Bundle

Hi there,

Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week.

If you’ve come from visiting Peta & Marvi, then welcome!  If you’re visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.

This week we are CASE-ing from the September Online Exclusives ReleaseThere was a range of seasonal and all occasion products in this release.

For my inspiration this week, I chose the Delicate Pines Bundle, shown in the image above. This isn’t a bundle I expected to buy as snowflakes are not accepted imagery for our summery Christmas in Australia. However, I like to see them as Christmas ‘stars’. The imagery in this bundle is quite unusual in that the ‘stars’ are composed of pine branches which gives them a very intricate look.

This is a super sparkly Christmas card with the images from the Delicate Pines Bundle, heat embossed in silver on an ink blended background.

Unfortunately, my photos don’t do this card justice. It is beautifully sparkly with silver and that makes it hard for the camera to capture. I love blue and silver for Christmas, so I started by ink blending a panel of Basic White with Misty Moonlight ink, leaving the centre with just a hint of soft blue.

There are lots of images in the Delicate Pines stamp set that can be layered in various ways. To give me a selection to work with, I heat embossed a set of images on Basic White and Misty Moonlight card stock using silver WOW embossing powder. They were cropped with the coordinating Delicate Pines Dies. Then it was a matter of layering the images with a 1mm foam pad to add dimension without too much height. I ended up with a large, medium and small cluster that I adhered to the blended panel. The greeting from the Delicate Pines stamp set was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink on Basic White and popped up across the ‘stars’. Some find pine foliage cropped from Cloud Cover card stock was popped under the ‘stars’ and greeting.

For the inside, I ink blended another panel and added the medium sized image in the corner, with a silver embossed centre piece on top. The greeting at the base is from the Decorative Trees stamp set and stamped in Misty Moonlight ink.
