Heart of Christmas – Ornamental Christmas Gift Card Holder

Welcome to week 6 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop for 2025. Each week until end of November, the talented ladies from the Art with Heart team will bring you inspiration for your holiday craft projects.

This week I have a fun gift card holder to share, using the Modern Christmas Specialty DSP and the Ornamental Christmas Bundle.

This is gift box shaped Gift Card Holder using the Ornamental Christmas Bundle and Modern Christmas Specialty DSP.

I was inspired by a gift card holder created by Jane Martin last year and decided I would put my own spin on the idea. The gift card holder is in the shape of a gift box and is made with Basic White card stock. I’ve added some of the bold striped design from the Modern Christmas Specialty DSP to the lid and down the front, matting it on Gold Foil. It is very difficult to photograph all that bling!

You can see how the lid slips off to reveal the gift card, which is adhered on the insert. The ‘box’ section was embossed with the Christmas Words Collage Hybrid Embossing Folder (that’s a mouthful, lol).

The star embellishment was created with the Ornamental Christmas Dies. The JOY greeting from the Greetings For You Ephemera pack was matted and added to the centre. On the reverse side of the insert I have another layer of Basic White so you can write your personal greeting.

For a different look, I created the Basic Black version with the striped design matted onto white this time. The embossing doesn’t show as well in the photo. The greeting from the Decorative Trees stamp set was heat embossed in gold and cropped with the bauble from the Ornamental Christmas Dies.

I think these designs are fairly unisex, but the black would be good for the guys, I think.

  1. What a fun way to give a gift card, Judy. I love the present idea and those specialty papers make it exta special and the dry embossing is a lovely feature. I love the white one!
