Flirty Mixed Florals

Hi there

Today I have another of our class cards, using the Mixed Florals Bundle. There are 2 large images in the stamp set that really take the load on your project. I’ve used the tulips image on this card and it is quick and fun colour as there aren’t too many fussy bits.

The card base is Boho Blue and I’ll be sad to see it retire at the end of April. Hopefully it might come back in a future colour refresh. I used Stampin’ Blends to colour the image, but it would be beautiful watercoloured with ink pads and water painter or with watercolour pencils, too. There are coordinating dies to crop all the stamped images, plus there is large detailed die for background foliage. You can find the Mixed Florals Bundle in the Online Exclusives section of my Online Store.

This is a simple layout, but some layers and embossed texture in the background adds interest without overshadowing the beautiful blooms. Isn’t that ladybird too cute! There are few a different ladybird poses in the stamp set and they also have coordinating dies, but I chose to fussy cut to keep the border tiny and not overwhelm the image.

I used Flirty Flamingo for the flowers and Granny Apple Green for the leaves to keep it nice and bright and Light Mossy Meadow for the tulip stems to provide contrast with the leaves. The small flowers were coloured with Light Daffodil Delight with a little (retired) Mango Melody in the centre. I finished with a black & white check bow and a sprinkle of Antique Pearls. I think these will become a firm favourite as they have a beautiful lustre and are fairly flat as well and perfect when you don’t want to add any more colour to your project.

The inside of the card has a partial tulip image from the Mixed Florals Bundle stamped in the bottom right corner.

For the inside I have a Basic White writing panel and a partially stamped image of the tulips in the bottom corner, using the same colours as the front of the card.

I think this would make a lovely Easter or Mother’s Day card as well.
