CASE-ing the Catty – Thankful Garden Birthday
Hi there
Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week.
If you’ve come from visiting Monique, then welcome! If you’re visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.

This week we are CASE-ing one of the templates (sketches) from page 12 of the 2025 January-April Mini Catalogue. Templates (or sketches as I prefer to call them) are a great starting point when you don’t really have anything particular in mind. Usually it doesn’t take long before you think of papers or images that would work well with the sketch. Don’t forget that you can substitute a shape for any other shape if you want to.

I chose the template above for my inspiration this week, as I always love a banner in the background.

I started with a Basic White Thick card base and layered on the tone-on-tone Fresh Freesia design from the Lovely Garden DSP. The banner came next with one of the black and white designs that are on the reverse side of most of the sheets in this pack. I added the Basic White circle cropped with one of the Spotlight on Nature Dies and that replaces the square in the template.

The floral image from the Thankful Garden stamp set was coloured with blending brushes, ink pads and the masks that are part of the bundle. They make colouring super easy. For the leaves, I just used the first one of leaf masks to blend some Granny Apple Green and then added my own shading with Garden Green. The image was cropped with the coordinating die. I coloured an additional flower and popped it up over the top. The camera is showing the flowers as more pink, rather than the mauve/pink of Fresh Freesia they are in real life.
The greeting from the Round We Go stamp set was stamped Fresh Freesia ink and cropped with the label die from the Perennial Postage Dies. I cropped another from black card stock and cut it in half and adhered it underneath on each end so the greeting would pop more. I sprinkled around my favourite Sparkle Gems to finish and a white Baker’s Twine bow under the greeting.

For the inside, I have a Fresh Freesia mat for the writing panel and a strip of the black striped paper at the bottom. I have cropped the foliage using the Thankful Garden Dies and then ink blended some Granny Apple Green and Garden Green ink ove the die cut I added one if my extra flowers that was a bit too dark for the front of the card.

So pretty Judy. The black and white banner is striking and really makes the other colours pop.
