Heart of Christmas – Road to Christmas Kit

Welcome to week 5 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop for 2025. Each week until end of November, the talented ladies from the Art with Heart team will bring you inspiration for your holiday craft projects.
Last week I had a class and didn’t get my link done in time, so I’m happy to share my projects with you this week. Have you seen the Road to Christmas Kit? This kit was released earlier this month and it recently arrived in my craft room. It has a real nostalgic country vibe to it and it’s a little different to the normal Christmas imagery.

You can see the 2 designs that you can create above and there are supplies for 8 cards in total. The sentiments are pre-printed and it includes Tear n Tape and Dimensionals, so definitely one you can craft on the go with. The envelopes are really lovely with the red plaid on the inside and the trees on the front. So you are aware, there are sufficient trees, parcels and dogs provided that you can use each image on all 8 cards if you choose.

I wanted to bring you a couple of alternative designs for the supplies in the Road to Christmas Kit and maybe a different perspective. The first card is a Z-Fold using Lost Lagoon as the card base and the Lost Lagoon plaid card base as the designer paper on the front and inside. The focus panel with the trees presents as a snowy scene, but with some ink and blending brushes I’ve created a sunny day and a dirt road lined with vibrant trees for an Aussie Christmas.
I cropped the panel a tiny bit to allow me to mat it on Basic Black, so it pops from the background. The trucks have a clever slit in the tray that allows you to slip in the tree and presents. I adhered the greeting flat at the base and then popped up the truck on the panel with the cute Labrador sitting on the greeting.

The writing panel sits underneath the front focus panel and I added a mat of Lost Lagoon. The greeting is from the Jolly Holly stamp set and I stamped and coloured the holly image in Lost Lagoon and Cherry Cobbler.

This card is a book fold using the second background panel and truck style. The card base is Real Red to coordinate with the truck . This time I have just used the tree in the back and the dog is sitting behind the truck. To keep the country vibe going, I added the (retired) Black & White Gingham ribbon around the left end of the card before adhering the section closed. For this design, I ink blended some Balmy Blue to the skyline and slightly extended the ground section to fit the card base.

You can see how this card looks when it is open, with the fixed section at the left. You can also see I have a Basic Black mat for the writing panel inside. I did a little Balmy Blue ink blending and added the parcels to the bottom corner.
This is a great kit to create nostalgic Christmas cards (at a great price) and it has lots of scope if you want to change things up and make it your own.

Gorgeous fun folds using the Road to Christmas kit. Love them both Judy, especially the way you coloured the sky and earth to create Aussie scenes. xxx
Love your alternate designs with this lovely card kit, Judy. Both wonderful folds and the Black matt really makes the feature pop on card 1. The Red card base of card 2 is striking with the gingham ribbon.
Judy such a brilliant idea to colour in the scene and create an Aussie Christmas card. Love the details and two different card designs. The black mat does make the colours pop out more.
Wow, that’s just brilliant colouring the card fronts that way. Definitely an Aussie country Christmas now! That puppy is so cute!
