CASE-ing the Catty – Velvet Meadow Suite

Hi there,

Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week.

If you’ve come from visiting Kathyrn, then welcome!  If you’re visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.

This week we are CASE-ing the pretty Velvet Meadow Suite from the  2026 May-August Catalogue. For me, the star of the suite has to be the Velvet Meadow 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. Unfortunately, it is currently out of stock, but hopefully it will be back in the next few weeks.

It has such a lovely combination of both subtle and bright colours that really pop off the page.

I have loosely based my card around the layout of the project in the photo above from page 33 of the 2026 May-August Catalogue. The gorgeous floral design from the Velvet Meadow Specialty DSP is the hero of my card and I’ve taken elements from the layout for my card, changing it up as always!

This is a sweet and simple birthday card that lets the beautiful Velvet Meadow Specialty DSP be the hero.

I started with a Basic White card base and added my favourite design from the Velvet Meadow Specialty DSP from the top and edge to edge. A narrow border of Cloud Cover Two-Tone was added to the bottom edge, first. Then to add a bright pop, I cropped the fancy border from Berry Burst card stock using the Bordered in Beauty Dies and adhered it under the Cloud Cover border. The white Baker’s Twine was wrapped around twice and finished with a bow and the finished panel was added to the card base.

The greeting from the Framed All Around stamp set was stamped in Berry Burst ink on Basic White and cropped with the 1 7/8″ Circle Punch. I adhered it to a Cloud Cover circle cropped with the Stylish Shapes Dies. It was popped up over the border with Dimensionals and foam pads to even out the height. The set of butterflies from the All Aflutter stamp set were stamped in Daffodil Delight ink and cropped with the coordinating punch. The smallest of the three was added to the greeting with a glue dot.

For the inside I have a Cloud Cover mat with the white writing panel and a strip of the patterned paper on the right. The greeting from the Phrases & Frames stamp set was stamped in Berry Burst ink and the remaining butterflies were adhered with glue dots.

This is a sweet and simple birthday card that lets the beautiful Velvet Meadow Specialty DSP be the hero.

You can see the white flocked detail on the paper in this photo; it is so pretty. I hope you give this layout a try when you want the paper to be the hero.
