CASE-ing the Catty – Lily of the Valley Bundle

This week we are CASE-ing a bundle from the 2026 May-August Catalogue. You can find them all listed on pages 36 – 42 of the catalogue. I’m loving the updated format of the Catalogue. It is so much easier to find what you’re looking for, don’t you think?

My card is loosely based on the layout of the card above featuring the Balloon Festoon Bundle on page 39 of the catalogue. I’ve changed it to a landscape orientation with the centre art panel and narrower side panels on each side.

I’m not sure of the name of this layout, but I’m calling it the Pop-Out Diamond Fun Fold card. This is my take on one made at a recent retreat by Kim Fee. It is simple to make and you can use any coordinating papers. The base uses the same card stock size as a normal metric card, but you cut it into 2 pieces and score it in the centre and at the ends of both panels. The 2 panels are joined at the sides so it forms the diamond shape in the centre that pops out the embellishment.

I started with a Basic White base with the 2 designs from the Lily of the Valley DSP. The floral was used on the centre panels and the rustic plaid for the side panels. Coastal Cabana is the coordinating colour for this paper pack, but I think Pool Party works really with the diamonds in the background of the floral and is more restful with plaid. The centre embellishment is layered together and adhered to a hinge mechanism that allows it to open or flatten. Lily of the Valley sprays were cropped from Basic White and coloured with Granny Apple Green and Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends (yes, there are pink Lily of the Valley flowers!). The greeting was stamped in Garden Green ink, fussy cut and popped up next to the flowers. I finished with lashings of Wink of Stella on the flowers and a tiny white bow.

For this style of card that folds in the centre, the writing space on the reverse side usually has two narrow panels. I really dislike having that split as it always looks weird, whether you write your message down or across the split panels. I have solved that dilemma by adding a full width writing panel that is also attached on a hinge mechanism. It pops out or flattens in the same manner as the embellishment on the front of the card. The writing panel has a Pool Party mat and I stamped the smaller floral image in the corner in Basic Gray ink and coloured it with the same Stampin’ Blends as the flowers on the front.

The card goes nicely into a standard envelope. This is a simple fun fold that you can easily adapt to papers and embellishments of your choice.
