CASE-ing the Catty - Fragrant Layers

This week we are CASE-ing a project from a suite in the 2025- 2025 Annual Catalogue. We don’t have much time left with the Annual Catalogue, so it is good to take another look at the samples in there.

I chose the project in the photo above from page 41 for the layout. It is from a great selection of samples using the Florals in Bloom Suite. It is a simple and flexible layout that you could use with lots of products, plus you couple replace the banner with any shape.

This is a pretty floral birthday card using the Fragrant Layers and Words of Beauty Bundles.

I started by stamping the floral images from the Fragrant Layers stamp set in Versamark ink. They were heat embossed in gold on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Ink pads and a water painter were used to colour the images and I fussy cut them when dry. The flowers are coloured with Fresh Freesia and Petunia Pop ink, which have taken on quite pink tones when diluted. Some detailed die cuts were cropped from the watercolour paper using the Fragrant Layers Dies and then coloured.

The Fresh Freesia paper was added to a Basic White card base and the white banner positioned to the right. The flowers and die cuts were arranged over the banner and adhered with 1mm foam pads. The ‘because’ is cropped from Petunia Pop card stock, using the Words of Beauty Dies. It looks much darker in the photo, unfortunately. It was adhered to a Basic White shadow die cut and positioned over the flowers with Dimensionals at the left to balance the height. The complementary greeting is from the Words of Beauty stamp set, stamped in Petunia Pop ink.

For the inside I have a Fresh Freesia mat for the writing panel with the birthday greeting from the Simply Said stamp set, stamped in Petunia Pop ink. A watercoloured flower and leaves decorated the corner.
