CASE-ing the Catty – Traditions of Christmas

Hi there,

Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week.

If you’ve come from visiting Rebecca, then welcome!  If you’re visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.

This week we are using a sketch (layout) from page 14 of the 2025 September-December Mini Catalogue.

You can see all the sketches in the image above. So much great inspiration for cards, tags and scrapbook pages. I chose the very first sketch outlined in red on the top line for my card today.

This is a pretty Christmas card using the plaid design from the Traditions of Christmas DSP with the foil accented flowers for the embellishment.

The Traditions of Christmas DSP is the focus for my card. The lovely plaid paper was my choice for the background layer on the Basic White card base. For the centre layer there is a Real Red mat for the Secret Sea striped design.

For the circle on the layout, I used the pretty red flowers cropped with the coordinating die from the Christmas Greenery Dies. These images were on the edge of the paper, so this was the perfect way to use them. Of course, you can use any shape you want, it doesn’t need to be a circle specifically. My greeting is stamped in Old Olive on the stacked banner from the Traditional Labels Dies. I added a little shading with some Old Olive ink and a blending brush. To pick up more of the green tones, I popped in some pine foliage in Old Olive around the flowers. This was cropped with one of the tag dies from the Patterned Tags Dies. I finished with a trio of the Traditional Sparkling Sequins that coordinate with the suite.

The inside is sweet and simple, with a Real Red mat for the writing panel and a narrow strip of the Secret Sea striped design at the bottom. I finished with a fussy cut red flower from another of the sheets in the Traditions of Christmas Specialty DSP pack.

This is such a versatile layout that is perfect for showcasing your patterned papers as well as a coordinating embellishment.
