Merry Monday #36

Hi there

There is another fabulous versatile sketch from Lesley this week at Merry Monday.  I'm enjoying seeing my completed Christmas card stash grow, so why don't you join the fun.

Here is the sketch:

I have flipped the sketch on its side (back?) for my card, which features stockings punched out with the now retired (sob!) stocking builder punch.  To give the stockings some body and make them easier to work with, I used my glue stick to adhere the 'Be of Good Cheer' DSP and then punched them out.

I'm really enjoying the new ink pads; the coverage on solid stamps is fabulous and I love the fact that you can now have embossing in every colour.  For this card, I have stamped the greeting in Early Espresso ink and then clear embossed it.  You get the perfect clarity of the stamped greeting and if you apply the clear embossing powder immediately, you get a lovely embossed finished as well.  I have used the same process on the little red  bow.  The result is not quite as raised, but I think the finished look is a lot cleaner on smaller, detailed stamps such as these and if there is the odd stray fleck of embossing powder, you can't see it.  Give it a go and see what you think.

  1. Beautiful as always Judy! Love your combination of DSPs. I was sad too that this punch didn’t stay on – I’m glad I got one before it retired! Thanks for joining us at Merry Monday again!

  2. I love those stockings, Judy May, and thanks for the tip about giving them more body and the embossing! This is a wonderful card! I may have to CASE it! Thanks for sharing with us at Merry Monday!
