Summer Mini Blog Hop
Hi there
Welcome to the first of our casual monthly Blog Hops for 2011. I'm joining a few friends and fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators to bring you some inspiration using products from the current Summer Mini Catalogue. You may have come from the blog of the lovely Di Dunk, but if not you can start from here and move to the next stop on the Blog Hop using the link at the bottom of this post.
I've used the 'Love Defined' stamp set as the primary focus of my projects together with 'Fabulous Phrases' and 'Itty Bitty Bits' stamp sets to create a couple of cards and gift cards. The first one I have is for Valentine's Day which is only a couple of weeks away, but would be equally suitable for an anniversary or wedding card. I've used markers directly to the rubber for the background of stems and hearts, which is one of my favourite stamps from this set. This panel has been popped up on the Rose Red base card. I've partially matted the sentiment punched out with the Word Window punch to provide the contrast on the background panel. You can do this by cutting a 7mm strip (easier to handle than 15/32") and then use the 1/2" circle punch to round off the end at the length required.
For the second card I've stamped the string of hearts on Whisper White, added the Chocolate Chip striped DSP and then cut it out with the Top Note die and Big Shot. The new Pinking Hearts punch was used to create the border across the centre and the sentiment is from 'Fabulous Phrases'. The white strip behind the top note is embossed with the new Square Lattice embossing folder, which has quickly become a favourite.
Finally, to show the versatility of 'Love Defined', I've created a couple of small gift cards. I've added highlights with the images from 'Itty Bitty Bits' stamp set, punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes punches and overlaid with Bitty Buttons. All of these are new in the Summer Mini Catalogue.

As usual Judy, your cards are all beautiful, my favourite is the Choc Chip one, the striped DSP looks like corrugated card in the photo, which is what I thought it was until I read the description.I love chocolate and pink together, a great classic combo.
