Soft & Sweet – For Mum

It has been a real sunshine and showers Autumn day on this Easter Monday in Melbourne. There has been a really chilly wind that says winter is on the way. My lovely white Japonica Camelia is already flowering and I had my first thoughts of warming soup. I whipped up some creamy cauliflower and potato soup with bacon for lunch as I had the items on hand and it was really yummy. I'm sure it will be even better for lunch tomorrow.
Although colour challenges aren't my strong point, I thought the lovely colour combo at Just Add Ink this week was something I could manage. Here it is:
Mother's Day is on the horizon, so I have taken the opportunity to get an early start on this occasion with a soft and 'girly' card for my Mum. I inked up the lovely 'Bordering on Romance' stamp set from the new Autumn/Winter Mini for the first time and it is lovely to colour. I rarely colour on Very Vanilla card stock, but I like the resulting soft effect with these colours. I've also used lots of other goodies from the new Mini – there is a lot to love in this one! I've popped up both layers of labels and the group of 3 flowers in the spray. This card has lots of layers and texture and definitely doesn't qualify as 'clean and simple', but I'm happy with the end result.

Judy, this is DIVINE!! The combination of textures really appeals to me. I love the placement of the pearls; it fills the space between the Framelits die cuts beautifully. Lovely soft colouring of those gorgeous flowers that sit so nicely aside the sentiment. Wow! So glad you could play along with us at JAI.
