Merry Monday #54

Hi there

I've had a busy long weekend attending our Rotary District Conference in regional Victoria, so I haven't had any opportunity to create for the last few days.

However, I'm very pleased to accept Lesley's invitation to be the Guest Designer for Merry Monday #54 this week, which is a theme challenge – SNOWMEN.

Whilst we don't have a cold Christmas in Australia, I love snowmen and this challenge gives me the opportunity to use the cute 'Snow Much Fun' stamp set that I bought a while ago.  I have created a faux snow globe scene for the main focus of the card.  I was going to make a shaker card, but after adding a few layers for the snowy hills and snowman, I ran out of room and I didn't want to make the card too bulky.

The snowy hills were created by heat embossing with Irridescent Ice to give them a subtle sparkle. The snowman was coloured with Copics, cut out and popped on the hills. The sentiment on the base of the globe was created on the computer, printed and then die cut. I love Pool Party with Real Red for a more contemporary colour combo for Christmas. The DSP was an unexpected and happy find; it pays to go through your paper stash as it is easy to forget what you have!

For the inside, I stamped and coloured the tall, thin snowman from the same set to continue the theme.
