Merry Monday #18
Hi there
Well, it had to happen eventually. Making the first Christmas card of the year, that is. Now that we are in May, there is no escaping the fact that the year is galloping away, again. Despite my best intentions I always seem to start my Christmas cards too late as I like to make lots of different designs rather than many of one design.
Today's card uses this week's Merry Monday #18 sketch. I have been wanting to try out this sketch challenge for a while and when I saw the sketch, I thought of the Santa stamp that I hadn't used yet. First up, here is the sketch:
I have used the retired 'Christmas Cocoa' DSP which is one of my very favourite Christmas designer papers from Stampin' Up! I love the combination of Real Red, Soft Suede and Whisper White as it is traditional with a bit of a twist. I have coloured the vintage Santa in keeping and matted him with textured Soft Suede to make him pop. For the narrow centre strip in the sketch I have used a row of 'stars' from one of the matching papers. With the busy background, I have kept the embellishments to a minimum.
