Making the ‘Hello Life’ Kit Your Own

Hi there

When I saw the 'Hello Life' kit in the new Occasions catalogue, I was really taken with the idea of creating a special piece of home decor that would combine my love of craft and things that are meaningful in my life.

I loved the black, white and silver, but the 'Crushed Curry' accent colour in the kit was not really me and definitely was not going to match my decor. I set myself the challenge of selecting one alternative accent colour (in my case Strawberry Slush) and using it to really make the kit my own. It was surprisingly easy and I love how it turned out. I now have it hanging on the wall of my craft room and it makes me smile every time I look at it.

I have used the matching 'Hello Life' stamp and the 'Project Life Remember This' set to personalise my photo frames.  The photo frames are very simple to create with a piece of rectangular card stock and the Squares Collection framelits, so you can change around the photos you display as new memories are created.

This is my completed frame hanging on the wall of my craft room.

Here are some close-ups of the different sections. I have substituted the pom poms with the lovely roses made with the spiral flower die.  You could purchase some wool in your accent colour and create the pom poms, but the roses are more me.

I love the chalk board adhesive letters and I chose 'Live Laugh Love' for my motto. I added some Whisper White card stock to the back of the DSP to make it more robust. The cute sweetheart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack is the perfect size to use as an accent with the kit and of course matches perfectly with the larger Sweetheart punch and the Confetti Heart border punch. There are heaps of letters left over to use for other projects as well.

I have assembled all of the elements in the kit, adding my own creative touches to bring the accent colour through.

I would love to help you make the 'Hello Life' kit your own, too.  I will be running a class on 10/11 April providing the stamp sets, dies and card stock so you can customise the 'Hello Life' frame.  The kit will need to be purchased in advance of the class and prior to 31 March when the Occasions Catalogue finishes. You can see more details on my Classes page.

  1. Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Just love how you have decorated this Judy. I have even looking at this kit and wondering whether or not to get it but hesitating – mainly because it does not have the dimensions of the wire frame on it. Your colours are just lovely.
