Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop
Hi there
Today I am participating as Guest Designer with the talented Kelly Kent and her Paper Adventures team. The theme for the blog hop is 'wheels' and this turned out to be rather fortuitous as my husband requested a 50th birthday card for a colleague with a motor bike on it.
Being a milestone birthday, I wanted it to be a bit special, so I have used a fancy fold together with the Classic Garage Suite of products to make my card.
The base card is Real Red and I've used the wheels design from the Classic Garage 6" x 6" Designer Paper for the large inside back panel. I have kept the colour combo to black, white, and red with silver accents. The art panel features the motorbike that I have fussy cut from another sheet of the Classic Garage Designer Paper.
I roughly cut the motor bike and then adhered it to some Basic Black card stock before fussy cutting. I also go around the image with a black marker to cover the white core of the paper for a nicer finish. To create the ground under the motor bike, I cut an irregular shape from scrap paper and then stamped the oil splotch through the template to reduce the area stamped and then popped up the bike image over the top. The greeting is from the retired Amazing You stamp set, stamped in Real Red.

This photo shows the card standing showing the Double Z Fold.
This view shows the inside panels, where I have the Black Foil '50' layered on the red mottled design paper. The sentiment from the Beautiful You stamp set has been heat embossed in white on the grey grungy design paper for the end panel. I added the small gears cut from glossy Black Foil (carried over from the Holiday Catalogue) and a strip of the black/silver metallic ribbon at the bottom.
The writing panel is on the reverse, where I have stamped the oil splotch a couple of times and then added the die cut birthday and the 'happy' was stamped above it. I finished with another strip of the black/silver metallic ribbon and the trio of gears in silver foil.
