Floral Charm Suite

Today I’m sharing the first of the projects we made in my July classes using products from the Floral Charm Suite. This suite was released in the July drop of new Online Exclusives products. It includes the Charming Day Bundle, Floral Charm Designer Series Paper and some coordinating embellishments.

A celebration card using the pretty Berry Burst colour way of the Floral Charm DSP and the large detailed die cut from the Charming Day Dies. The card would work for lots of celebratory occasions.

For this card I chose the Berry Burst colour way from the Floral Charm DSP. It has a few shades of pink in it so I’ve paired it with Petunia Pop to add brightness to the finished card. The six floral designs in the pack are all pretty, but this is one of my favourites. I have used Very Vanilla for the card base as the background colour of the paper isn’t white. Basic Beige was a bit too dark, I think.

The floral paper was adhered to the top and bottom of the card with the Petunia Pop panel in the centre. The panel was dry embossed with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. I decided to use the de-bossed side instead as the texture is more subtle.

The hero piece of the card is the beautiful big detailed die cut from the Charming Day Dies. I cropped 2 of them and adhered them together to make it more robust to pop it up. Under the die cut I have some loops of (retired) gold Simply Elegant Trim. The greeting from the (retired) Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set is perfect for lots of celebratory occasions. It was heat embossed in Ivory on Pecan Pie cardstock and cropped with the banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies.

For the inside, I have a strip of the pretty Floral Charm DSP at the base and the writing panel above is matted with Petunia Pop cardstock. The small butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set was stamped in the corner in Petunia Pop ink. You could add another greeting here if desired, but I prefer to keep it flexible.

This is a simple layout that works well with any patterned paper and you can finish it with a detailed die cut of your choice.
