Easter Basket & Card
Hi there
For some reason Easter seems to have crept up on me this year (I think it has something to do with age!!), so I thought I would take the opportunity to create something a little different for you in time for the Easter season.
I have used the Stampin' Up! Oval framelits to made an Easter treat basket and matching card with the lovely floral print from the 'Twitterpated' DSP that hasn't had much love recently. It is a little bit pastel, spring like (for those in the northern hemisphere) and pretty. I've matched it with Baja Breeze for the base with Pink Pirouette and Island Indigo for accents.
The treat box is made up of two scallop oval die cut frames that have been decorated on the bottom half with a trapezoidal box sandwiched between. I hope you didn't glaze over at the mention of the trapezoidal shaped box as it is really quite simple to put together once you have the measurements right. Considering how bad I was at geometry in high school, I was pretty pleased with the way the trapezoidal box worked out. Here is the finished treat box.
I put a little bit of crystal shred in the bottom and then piled in the yummy Lindt eggs. The basket as shown contains 9 of the Lindt eggs, so it is a good size and and the whole thing is very sturdy. Here is a side view showing the box, which has been covered in more of the 'Twitterpated' DSP. I have trimmed a fraction off the centre scallops at the bottom so that the box will sit flat.
The matching card also uses the largest scallop oval framelit for the base. The front of the card has been decorated in the same way as the treat box, but with the sentiment from the inside showing through the cut out. I've added a few little flowers and some pearls to finish it off.

This is the inside of the card.
These will be winging their way to my lovely Mum and mum-in-law for Easter. I hope they like them.
I will be entering these projects in the Simon Says Stamp Easter/Spring challenge and the StillAddinktive Sketch Challenge as well.
