CASE-ing the Catty – Mosiac Garden DSP

Hi there,
Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week.
If you’ve come from visiting Peta & Marvi, then welcome! If you’re visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.

This week we are CASE-ing a scrapbooking layout from the 2026 September-December Catalogue. I find this type of challenge very challenging!

I chose the scrap page above for my inspiration. It was the rounded ends on the patterned paper that caught my eye and I have taken that look for my card.

For a summery feel, I have used the lovely Mosaic Garden DSP with the addition of the Mixed Up Patterns DSP for the yellow design. I cut 1 inch strips of each of the 4 designs and rounded the ends with a 1″ Circle Punch (retired). The strips were added to a panel of Basic White. I created the layered band instead of the photos to highlight the curves. The panel was added to the Hydrangea Hue card base.

I have created a very dimensional flower for the focal point of the card, using the Scalloped Blooms Dies. Using the smallest 3 dies, I cropped multiple of each from Basic White card stock and attached them all together in the centre with a brad. Each layer was spritzed with water and scrunched up into a small knob. The layers were carefully peeled back and left to dry.
The leaves were cropped from Old Olive Two Tone card stock using the Boutique Blooms Dies. I added a ‘Z’ of the lovely Hydrangea Hue 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon and positioned the flower on top. The greeting from the Framed Violets stamp set was stamped in Hydrangea Hue ink and fussy cut. It didn’t stand out from the background very well, so I added it to Hydrangea Hue Two Tone card stock and then cut around it, leaving a small border. I popped up the greeting on the right.

I have kept the inside simple, with a white writing panel and the greeting from the new Poetic Petals stamp set stamped in Hyrdrangea Hue ink. A narrow strip of the multi-coloured design is at the bottom.

I hope you can see how my card was inspired by the scrapbook layout. You would need to put the card into a box (like a DVD box) for it to survive the post, but I’m sure it will be worth the extra postage!
