CASE-ing the Catty – Traditions of Christmas

Hi there,
Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week.
If you’ve come from visiting Rochelle, then welcome! If you’re visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.

This week we are CASE-ing the Traditions of Christmas Suite from the 2025 September-December Mini Catalogue. This is a lovely mega suite of products with 2 bundles, an embossing folder, specialty designer paper and embellishments. All of the ‘B’ side designs on the paper are small prints that are also perfect for other occasions as well. The best way to see all this goodness is to click on the link above and see all the products in the Online Store.

I chose the project above for my inspiration. It uses images stamped with the Christmas Greenery stamp set and coloured with Stampin’ Blends markers. These same images with foil accents are on the designer paper and can be cropped with the same die for a quick makes.

Well, my card took a few twists and turns from the inspo project, but I think you can still see the origins. I started with a landscape Basic White Thick card base to give me some more real estate. I added a layer of the Secret Sea striped paper and it provides a fabulous contrast to the pretty bouquet that I cropped from the Traditions of Christmas Specialty DSP.

The large gold hoop is from the Modern Christmas Suite and I adhered it on each side with a glue dot rolled into a sausage shape and placed under it. The bauble was cropped from the Irresistible Designs Specialty DSP and I used a Blending Brush and Real Red ink to add colour. This specialty paper has white embossed designs that are brought to life when ink is blended over the top, which is the ’emboss resist’ technique. Cherry Cobbler ink was added to the edges to deepen the colour and add depth. Another bauble was cropped from Gold Foil and cut in half to add a fine border that helps to define it. The bauble and topper are from the Ornamental Christmas Dies, also part of the Modern Christmas Suite. These dies could easily standalone without the stamp set.
I cropped the larger of the bouquets (the one with the Poinsettia) from the Traditions of Christmas paper and then cut it in half and positioned it under the popped up bauble. The fine Old Olive foliage is a byproduct of one of the Patterned Tags Dies and works well with the scale of the bouquet. To finish I added (yet another) greeting from the Greetings For You Ephemera pack on Foam Adhesive Strip so it could straddle the gold hoop. The sweet gold bow and Pool Party sparkling sequins were the finishing touch.

I have kept the inside simple, with a Secret Sea mat for the writing panel and I added one of the partial bouquets from the edge of the Traditions of Christmas Specialty DSP, to the edge of the writing panel.

I hope you enjoyed this mash-up of the Traditions of Christmas Suite with the Modern Christmas Suite!
