CASE-ing the Catty – Inspiring Imperfections

Hi there,
Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week.
If you’ve come from visiting Rebecca then welcome! If you’re visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.

This is the final week we are CASE-ing from the 2025–2026 Annual Catalogue for a while. Next week we start on the brand new 2025 September-December Mini Catalogue which is live to customers on Wednesday 3 September. So, we have a free pick for our inspiration project this week.

I chose the project in the photo above from page 58 of the Annual Catalogue. I haven’t used the Kintsugi Inspirations Suite as yet, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity. It was the frame in the card above that caught my eye.

I started by dry embossing a card front-sized panel of Misty Moonlight card stock with the Joined Together 3D Embossing Folder. To emphasize the patterns in the design, I rubbed Craft White ink over the panel. I have inked up a Stampin’ Spot with the Craft White ink refill to make it easier to go over the design and not get ink in the flat areas. Heat set the ink with the Heat Tool as it takes a while to dry. You could achieve a similar look by using the Two-Tone card stock and rubbing it back with a fine sanding block.
To create the frame, I added a piece of the Petal Pink tone-on tone design from the Kintsugi Inspirations Specialty DSP to Basic White card stock that was cut to the size. I cut the inside of the panel to a 1/4″ (6mm) all the way around to create the frame that is popped up on the embossed panel.

The vase from the Inspiring Imperfections stamp set was stamped in Night of Navy Ink and cropped with the corresponding die. I used Cloud Cover Stampin’ Blends markers to colour the background, leaving the design white. The fine line die was cropped from Gold Foil and used as a stem coming from the centre of the vase. I cut a slit in the top of the vase with the craft knife to make it more realistic. The short fine line was positioned in the corner of frame. The flowers were cropped from white velvet paper for some soft texture. The All Season Velvet Specialty Paper contains 2 sheets each of red, white and green velvet paper. It is available from the Online Exclusives category in the Online store.
The sympathy greeting is from the Unbounded Love stamp set, stamped in Night of Navy ink and cropped with a die from the Unbounded Love Dies. Both of these products are now discounted in the Last Chance List. I finished with a trio of the pretty gold Flower Accents embellishments.

I like to finish the inside of my cards in a coordinating style to the front. For this card, I added a layer of the Petal Pink paper to the inside. The writing panel was cropped from Basic White card stock using the second largest of the Textured Notes Dies to create another frame. I added the stamped and cropped flower from the Inspiring Imperfections stamp set to the corner. The flower was coloured with the Cloud Cover Stampin’ Blends.
