CASE-ing the Catty - Storybook Moments

This week are taking our inspiration from the Storybook Moments Suite on pages 23 – 28 of the January – April Mini Catalogue. The sweet images in this suite are very reminiscent of the Beatrix Potter characters and are perfect for cards and scrapbook pages for children.

I’ve chosen the sample above from page 23 for my inspiration today. It is 3/4 slimline card, so narrower and longer than a standard card, which caught my eye and I like how the cute images have been layered.

I don’t have the Storybook Garden Patch Bundle, but I do have some of the Storybook Moments Specialty DSP from a team share so I decided to use some of the printed pre-cut images to create a little scene. I took a piece of the Fluid 100 Watercolour paper and created a simple wash background using an Water Painter and ink pressed from my ink pads. After drying with the heat tool I cut it down and adhered it to a Pecan Pie mat with a narrow border.

I took a selection of the pre-cut images and placed them around the fence until I was happy with the layout. I popped up the fence along the horizontal rails and then positioned the remainder of the elements with some adhered flat and some popped up. I decided to make this a baby card and had to raid my stash to find a suitable greeting, which is from the (retired) Celebrating You stamp set. I stamped it in Pecan Pie ink on an offcut of Watercolour Paper and edged it in Boho Blue. The finished panel was popped up on Dimensionals on a Boho Blue card base. The finished card ended up at 10.5cm x 17.5cm, which needs a slightly larger 12cm x 18cm envelope, but still qualifies for standard postage.
