CASE-ing the Catty – More Sale-a-bration!
Hi there
Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing the Catty!
If you've come from visiting Peta & Marvi, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

The 2021 July – December Mini Catalogue is now LIVE and you can earn fabulous FREE products with a qualifying ($90AUD or $180 order) during Sale-a-bration (3 August – 30 September 2021). Tonight the Crew are taking inspiration from the sample projects in the Sale-a-bration brochure.
I've chosen the card above for my inspiration (please excuse the quality of the photo that I had to snip from the catalogue!), which uses the Shaded Summer stamp set from the 2021-22 Annual Catalogue and Summer Shadows Dies which are a Level 2 Sale-a-bration option you can choose with a $180AUD order of products from any current catalogues.
Seeing the die cuts behind the stamped image reminded me of the technique of creating a background with your die cuts, so that is the direction I went. I have a Blushing Bride card base and I've popped up my art panel. I chose Sahara Sand for the background and for the die cuts to create the tone on tone effect. The Summer Shadows Dies is perfect for this technique as there is a nice mix of large and small dies with both solid and outline options.

I recommend that you create your die cuts using Adhesive Sheet on the reverse, to make adhering them super quick and easy. My other tip is to make sure you have all your layers cut first, as I found my trimmers weren't happy about cutting the uneven edges.
I stamped the large floral image in Blushing Bride and used the coordinating outline die from the Sale-a-bration Summer Shadows Dies set to crop it. To give it a bit more focus, I adhered it to a piece of Vellum and hand cut around the outside leaving a wide border. The Shaded Summer stamp set also has 7 useful greetings in a nice mixed font.
For the inside, I have a Sahara Sand mat for the writing panel and I've partially stamped the other floral image from the Shaded Summer stamp set in the top corner. At the base is a strip of Blushing Bride patterned designer paper.

I love the technique, of using die cuts for the tone-on-tone background. Along with the lovely colour combo, and sweet details, this makes for a beautiful card, Judy!
The die cut background is a wonderful idea – and I love all your tips for making it stress free!! Thankyou! Such great inspiration!
Wow that’s just beautiful! I love the vellum cut out to make the flower really stand out.
