CASE-ing the Catty – Colour Combo Kerchief Card Kit
Hi there
Welcome to another week of CASE-ing the Catty challenge!
If you've come from looking at the lovely project on Rose's blog, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

This week, we're CASE-ing the colour combos from the Kerchief Card Kit on page 9 of the Sale-a-bration brochure. As you can see from the photo above, there are 2 cards, each with their own colour combination.
This week, I'm CASE-ing the colour combo of the Coastal Cabana card shown above. This is my favourite of the two colour combos.
You might be wondering where the Pear Pizzazz is, but if you look carefully, there are some leaves behind the Gold Foil die cuts.
Card kits are fabulous for quickly creating a stash of cards, plus, they are very portable. You can easily take them with you when you travel or go on holiday. I like to take one when I go to visit my Mum, so I have something to do when she is reading or napping.
The other great thing about card kits, is that you can use the elements in the kit to create something entirely different and that's what I have done this week. I started with a Night of Navy card base and heat embossed the greeting from Happy Birthday To You at the base in white. Next I added the white lacy layer. This is the first time I've used the Stitched Lace Die and the edgelit that creates the pretty border on the bottom.
I have used 2 of the large roses from the Kerchief Card Kit as the focus of my embellishment. They are very soft and pretty, but I decided to add a bit more depth by using a Coastal Cabana watercolour pencil to add some colour around the edge of the rose and a bit more shading. The roses are layered on a Night of Navy stitched oval with some of the Gold Foil leaves from the kit and the cute embossed Pear Pizzazz leaves from the Birthday Dies set. The stitched oval sits on a strip of Night of Navy to ground my embellishment. The roses are a lighter shade of Coastal Cabana that is closer to Pool Party, so I cut a narrow strip off one the cards to put on the navy strip. Underneath the navy oval is a large Vellum oval that softens the background behind the roses. I finished with a little bow, using a couple of strands of the White Flax Ribbon left over from another project.
For the inside, I have a Pool Party mat for my writing panel. At the base I added a piece of the stitched lace with the die cut edge and covered the join with a narrow border of Night of Navy and a narrow strip from the card. I have used another rose from the Kerchief Card Kit, adding the extra colour to the edge and shading.
