CASE-ing the Catty – Picture Perfect Party
Hi there
Happy New Year! It is great to be back for another year with the Crew, providing you with inspiration from Stampin' Up! catalogues. We now have the fabulous new Occasions and Sale-a-bration Catalogues and there is soooo much to love! This week we are starting with the Picture Perfect Party suite on pages 4-9 of the Occasions Catty.
You may have come from visiting Monique's blog, but if you are visiting me, you can start your journey here and continue by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
This week, I'm taking inspiration from the layout in the card above on page 6 of the Occasions Catty (quite a popular one with the Crew this week!). It is a great layout that can be used with many embellishment options in place of the basket of flowers. I took my 'Lots of Happy' All Inclusive Card Kit away with me, when I went to visit family in the WA over Christmas. I got to colour some of the lovely images and I am using one of them on my card today.
I've changed things up by making my card square and adding some extra layers. My floral bouquet embellishment was too tall for the normal sized card, so I went with a 13.5cm (a bit over 5 1/4") square card base that fits nicely into a 14cm square envelope.
For the colouring of the floral bouquet I used a combination of the water colour pencils that come with the kit and my Stampin' Blends. I love the Lemon Lime Twist pencil for the leaves and I added some Light Old Olive at the base of each leaf for depth. Pink Pirouette and Light Rich Razzleberry blends were used on the floral sprays in the bouquet. I took my cues from these colours to put together the remaining elements of the card.
For the inside I have a double mat of Pink Pirouette and Lemon Lime Twist. I've added some Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette washi to the base of the white writing panel and at the top I have stamped the small floral image from the 'Lots of Lavender' Sale-a-bration stamp set and coloured it in the same tones.
The larger floral image in the 'Lots of Lavender' stamp set is slightly smaller but very similar to the die cut image from the 'Lots of Happy' Card Kit that I used on the front of the card. So for a final touch, I have stamped this image on the envelope and coloured it with my Stampin' Blends. The stamp set does have solid images for each part of the bouquet for 2-step stamping as an alternative. When you are colouring on envelopes with alcohol markers, don't forget to put a piece of scratch paper inside, so it doesn't bleed into the back of the envelope.
