Clean & Simple
Hello
The end of another week and the last day of my holidays, unfortunately
. I wouldn't be able to afford my (craft) habit otherwise, so I shouldn't complain. Yesterday I had a lovely day stamping with some like minded ladies (
Claire & Sharon), which is something I hadn't done for a few months. It always amazes me how quickly the time goes when you stamp with friends.
For something a bit different, I've decided to challenge myself to some of the Clean & Simple sketches this year. For those who are regular readers of my blog, you will know that I'm very much into clean, but with lots of layers and details, so the 'simple' part of 'clean and simple' is a challenge. This is the most recent sketch - 121 so I decided to give it a go …
and this is what I came up with.
I'm happy with the end result, but I was itching to add something more
. I was challenged to put this up as is, so here you go ladies! The colour combo was also a bit of a revelation, courtesy of the Stampin' Up! Colour Coach, but I really like it. The scalloped panel is popped up and so is the scallop circle and the flowers on that – thankfully no limit on how many dimensionals you can use!!! The floral stamp is from the 'Punch Bunch' stamp set which is one of the fab new sets that you will be able to get FREE when Sale-a-bration starts on 25 January 2010.
To satisfy my details side, I decorated the inside of the card a bit more than usual. I've repeated the striped Baja Breeze DSP and used markers in the same colours on the the flower trio stamp from 'Punch Potpourri' (Level 1 Hostess set) and punched it out with the Boho Blossoms punch.
| Project Details | |
| Stamps | Punch Bunch (2011 Sale-a-bration Set), Punch Potpourri (Level 1 Hostess) |
| Card stock & Papers | Poppy Parade, Whisper White, So Saffron, Baja Breeze Patterns DSP |
| Ink | So Saffron, Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze |
| Accessories | None (OMG!!) |
| Tools | Scallop Edge Punch, Scallop Trim Corner Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Stampin' Write Markers (Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Wild Wasabi), Dimensionals |
I'll be back during the weekend with something less simple!!

I know that you must have fought really hard not to add something more to the front of the card
Judy!LOL.It is a really clean and simple design but very effective.I love it.
I love that, Judy. It’s gorgeous!
This is really striking, Judy. I totally understand, and concur with what Kerry said! Can’t wait to get my hands on that SAB set (I am being patient, and restrained, for a change!).
