Christmas in July Blog Hop

Welcome again to the Art with Heart team monthly Blog Hop.  The Art with Heart team led by Claire Daly, is a group of more than 90 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from across Australia. If you would like to be part of this supportive group of talented paper crafters email me for more details.

This month the theme is 'Christmas in July' and the weather in Melbourne has been perfect for the traditional Christmas roast dinner with all the trimmings! Now that we are into July, the countdown to Christmas has begun.  I always think I have heaps of time, then the next thing it is November and I'm rushing to get organised. I'm hoping this will be an incentive to make a new design each month so I build up my Christmas card stash.

You may have come from blog of the super talented Claire Daly but if not, you can join the Blog Hop from here by clicking on the link to the next blog at the bottom of this post. We hope you can take the time to visit each blog to see the wonderful creations we have to show you! If you leave a comment on every blog and then email Nikki at nikki@inkyart.com.au, your name will be put into the hat to win some beautiful Blog Candy. You have until 6am EST on 6 July 2010 to leave your comments and only those who are not Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators are eligible to win the Blog Candy.

This month I have been flat out with work so I decided to go for something simple, mainly using products from the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. The colours are not strictly traditional, but I think the end result is still fairly classic.

Stampin' Write markers direct to the rubber were used on the pine cone stamp from the Autumn Days stamp set.  A bit of bling has been added to the edges of the pine cones using a glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter, but this hasn't shown up well on the photo. The sentiment has been heat embossed in gold.

I made some matching gift cards using the same products. The To/From sentiment is from the Winter Post stamp set.  I found the words a bit close together to be useful so I cut them in half and placed them on the edges of the block.
