CASE-ing the Catty – Colours of Florals In Bloom DSP

Hi there,
Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week. Our challenge is to CASE the colours of the Florals in Bloom DSP. This paper includes most of the 2025-2027 In Colors plus Petunia Pop and Summer Splash. This a bright bold and fun colour combo.
If you’ve come from visiting Rochelle, then welcome! If you’re visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.

This week we are CASE-ing the colours of the Florals in Bloom DSP from the 2025- 2025 Annual Catalogue. You can see the colours and designs of this paper on page 43.

I chose the project in the photo above from page 40 of the Annual Catalogue. This project captured my attention the first time I looked through the catalogue and I’ve been waiting for the Party Banners Dies to arrive to make my version.

I can think of a couple of different ways to make this project, but I decided to create a pocket on the front of a standard metric card, so the card would stand nicely to display the bouquet. I chose Petunia Pop for the card base and cut the 3rd largest banner from the Party Banners Dies from Petunia Pop as well.Â
To make the pocket, the banner was trimmed to the length I wanted and texture was added with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. The sides of the banner were scored to the width of the card and folded under. Before adhering the pocket I added the Iridescent Striped Ribbon finishing with a bow in the front.

Once the base was done I got out the Pretty Florals Bundle and stamped a bunch of flowers in Petunia Pop, Timid Tiger, Darling Duckling and Strawberry Slush and cropped them with the coordinating dies. Because the stamps are two-step, I stamped off the background colours to get the lighter tone with the full strength used for the highlights.
The background foliage uses a die from the Pretty Florals Dies and Summer Splash card stock which is also a colour in this paper. I decided on the Queen Anne’s Lace die cut in white to add some contrast to all the colour. The die cuts were arranged and adhered in the ‘pocket’ that I created on the front of the card. I managed to get Secret Sea into the picture by using it to stamp the greeting from the Mixed Labels stamp set. It was cropped with the (retired) Tailor Made Tags Dies and attached to the bow with white Baker’s Twine.

I have kept the inside simple with a white writing panel and the pretty larkspurs in the corner with a little Summer Splash foliage.

Just a reminder, if you do not already have a Demonstrator (in Australia) and would like your own complimentary hard copy of the catalogue, then fill in your details on the Request Catalogues page (click on the link) on my blog.
