A Marquee Message

Hi there

Today I'm sharing one of the cards we made in class on the weekend. We used the new 'Marquee Messages' stamp set that is fabulous for masculine, teen and kids cards for a starter. However, it is certainly not limited to these and would also make a super birthday or thank you card for either gender. It has a funky retro look that gives it wide appeal. This set has a number of messages, but I went with the birthday option for my card and a couple of ladies in the class made the 'awesome' option. I love the extra greetings that you can pair with your marquee message, too.

I have made the new In Colours Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim a focus for my card, along with the yummy new copper embossing powder. This powder gives a really thick, rich finish and a realistic metallic look. The arrow was stamped on Dapper Denim, fussy cut and popped up on the shadow. I used a white gel pen for the 'lights' on it.  The numbers were pressed into the Versamark ink pad and dipped into the copper embossing powder twice to give a bold finish. Stampin' Write markers were used to colour the spiral, shadow and message in the centre. The finished panel was matted on Real Red and popped up on the Emerald Envy base card.

I'm sure you can see lots of combinations for colouring and paper piecing the various elements on the the main image. I'm looking forward to making a girly version next.

For the inside, I've kept it quite simple, with more of the lovely Emerald Envy striped washi tape (from the Playful Palette set) and a single Dapper Denim balloon.
